Lt. Luis Ochoa said the woman met the suspect at Mazzoti’s Italian Food restaurant about 1 a.m. and left with him. He parked at a vacant lot on Morningside Street, where the woman was allegedly raped, Ochoa said.

“She made the mistake of going for a ride with a guy she didn’t know. He threatened to kill her if she screamed,” Ochoa said.

When Davison was unable to start the car, police said, the woman ran from the stalled car to a security shack a hundred yards away. A security guard call police, who with the aid of a police helicopter found the suspect hiding in bushes in the Sea Cliff Development construction site.
