Share

U. S. Sen. John Seymour will discuss California’s role in a changing international environment at a meeting Thursday of the World Affairs Council of Ventura County, a Seymour spokesman said.

Seymour’s speech will touch on such topics as the end of the Cold War and its effect on California defense industries, and the North American Free Trade Agreement, Press Secretary H. D. Palmer said. Seymour, a Republican, is expected to outline differences between himself and former San Francisco Mayor Diane Feinstein, his Democratic opponent in the November general election.

Seymour will take questions after his talk, Palmer said.

In 1991, Seymour was appointed to the Senate seat vacated when Pete Wilson became governor.
