OUTLOOK

Murphy, a first-team all-league selection as a junior, and Roberts, a second-team choice, are the two best linemen in the league. Murphy was a starting center on the basketball team while Roberts is rated by White as “a more intense player than Murphy.” Bader, a two-way starter, will miss the opening three games after breaking his leg earlier in the summer playing soccer. Van Horn, an all-league strong safety as a junior, moves to running back. “We should have a good running game,” White said. “We have big, strong offensive linemen and good backs. Bell replaces John Khamis, the league’s offensive player of the year, at quarterback. “Bell will be the key to our success,” White said. Simmons, who broke the sophomore team rushing and touchdown marks, is the brightest newcomer.
