That Would Have Been One Nasty Home Run
What an embarrassment. Bob Nightengale wrote (Sept. 6) that Jerald Clark had hit a home run onto Addison Street.
Unbelievable.
Even people who have never been to Wrigley Field know that a home run over the left field fence lands on Waveland Avenue. For Clark’s home run to have landed on Addison Street, it either would have had to turn right from Waveland onto Sheffield Avenue, and then turned onto Addison or turned left from Waveland, past the fire station, onto Clark Street and then turned onto Addison Street.
