Diamond Bar : Urgency Land-Use Measure

Share

An urgency ordinance to allow the city to continue making land-use decisions in spite of a voter challenge to its new General Plan was adopted unanimously by the City Council on Tuesday.

The council approved the city’s first General Plan in July, then suspended it in August after opponents of the plan filed petitions calling for a referendum. Officials are reviewing the petitions for validity before calling an election.

The council, which has received complaints from property owners who said their projects came to a halt, added the urgency ordinance to its agenda during Tuesday’s meeting, distributing it to the audience and reading it aloud because of the short notice.
