MISSION COLLEGE : Issue-Oriented Activities Slated
Adrienne Foster, Mission College’s new associate dean of student affairs, wants to make students aware of the educational and social issues that affect them.
To this end, Foster and the Associated Students organization have planned a series of fall semester activities that includes a Candidates’ Day, voter registration drive and a program about AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
“I’m really enthusiastic about the students, and I hope I can help them reach their goals,” Foster said.
Foster directed disabled students programs and services at the Sylmar campus for two years before being appointed to her present post. She succeeds Philip Lozano, who retired in June.
Foster came to Mission College from Compton Community College, where she directed student programs and services for 11 years.
“I especially like working with students who need a little more help,” she said.
