The Region : Design House Aids Charity

More than 50 local architects and designers have transformed a Bel-Air estate once owned by silent-screen star Clara Bow into a “Sweet Charity” design house to benefit the Venice Family Clinic.

The fund-raiser will open with a black-tie gala preview Oct. 1 at the Stone Canyon estate, followed by a month of house and garden tours and a silent auction of more than 200 pieces of functional artwork, ending with an auction of one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture at the Pacific Design Center Nov. 1.
