Brethren Christian Goes Nowhere Against Fillmore

A dominating ground game lifted Fillmore to an easy, 25-6 victory over Brethren Christian in a nonleague game Friday night.

Fillmore (1-1) gained 289 yards rushing, with Felix Zuniga scoring three touchdowns and gaining 131 yards on 22 carries.

Running back Isaac Jimenez added 112 yards on 14 carries, and quarterback Phillip Chessani gained 56 yards and scored a touchdown.

While Fillmore’s ground game was in high gear, Brethren Christian’s (0-2) offense stalled time after time. The Warriors gained only 63 yards total offense.

Defensive Back Scott Thomas provided Brethren Christian with its lone score when he intercepted a pass on the final play of the first half and raced 90 yards.

Quarterback Reggie Davis was Brethren Christian’s leading offensive player with 30 yards on 10 carries.
