SUNLAND : Youth Shot 3 Times Leaving High School

An unidentified gunman shot a Verdugo Hills High School student three times Tuesday as he left campus, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The student, whose age and identity were not released, was walking on Plainview Avenue near Summitrose Street at 3:10 p.m. when he was approached by a man who shot him and then fled by car, Sgt. Frank Reynoso said. The shooting is believed to be gang-related, Reynoso said.
The youth was listed in serious condition at a Valley hospital, Reynoso said. No suspects have been arrested.
