San Diego : Wife, Baby Hurt in Crash; Father Dies
A 24-year-old El Cajon man died and his wife and baby were injured when their car overturned on Interstate 8 near College Avenue early Thursday, a CHP spokesman said.
Robert Pierson died at the scene after his wife, 26-year-old Rosa Pierson, lost control of the car at 4:38 a.m. The car rear-ended another vehicle and flipped over, the spokesman said. Neither was wearing a seat belt, the CHP spokesman said.
Robert Pierson worked as a grocery manager in Clairemont, a spokesman for the county medical examiner’s office said.
Two-year-old Jessica Pierson was thrown from the car in a baby seat that was not secured.
She was taken to Children’s Hospital, and a spokesman there said her injuries were not life-threatening.
Rosa Pierson was in good condition Thursday night at Sharp Memorial Hospital, a spokesman said.
