Friday, October 9:

* 7 to 9 p.m.: “Bit of Everybody Tales” with Jim Cogan, Brian Conroy, Diane Ferlatte, Martha Holloway, Nailah Malik, David Novak and Cary Trivanovich, in La Sala Courtyard at the San Juan Capistrano Regional Library.

Saturday, October 10:

* 10 to 11:30 a.m.: Children’s storytime with Ferlatte, Conroy and others (interpreted for the hearing-impaired) and a mime workshop with Trivanovich, both at the Old Fire Station Complex; and Hispanic stories and legends with Cogan and Malik (free), at the library.

* 1 to 2:30 p.m.: “Storytelling Made Simple” with the South Coast Storytellers Guild, Holloway and guest storytellers, at the Old Fire Station.

* 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.: “Story Swap” with Novak and Ken Friess. Anyone with a yarn to spin or a favorite story about early San Juan Capistrano is welcome at this “open-microphone” session. Free, at the Old Fire Station.

* 7 to 8:30 p.m.: Storyteller’s showcase with Novak, Conroy, Malik and Trivanovich, at the library.

* 9 to 10:30 p.m.: Dramatic and humorous stories for adults and teens with Ferlatte, Holloway and Cogan. Includes a full performance of “Sapelo: Time is Winding Up” by Ferlatte. At the library.
