In an effort to create community awareness on the importance of fire safety in the home, fire stations across Orange County are inviting the public to open houses today.

Firefighters will display fire equipment, hold safety demonstrations and distribute educational information.

The open houses are being held in observance of Fire Prevention Week, which ends today. This year’s national theme is “Test Your Detector--It’s Sound Advice.”
