FRIDAY FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Dorsey and San Pedro Seesaw to a 20-20 Tie
The Dorsey Dons had a six-point lead after three quarters, but had to settle for a 20-20 tie with San Pedro in a Southern Pacific Conference game at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
San Pedro running back Ambrose Russo scored on a 57-yard run to tie the score with 8:57 left. Kicker Mike Dimassa missed the extra point, which proved costly. Russo, who rushed for 132 yards in 15 carries, also scored the Pirates’ first touchdown on a 13-yard run.
The Dons had three more possessions, but could not get past San Pedro’s 45 yard line.
Dorsey star wide receiver Antonio Carrion caught three passes for 148 yards, including touchdown receptions of 56 and 82 yards.
Dorsey and San Pedro combined for 468 yards in total offense.
