BUENA PARK — Two men have been arrested by Buena Park police in connection with the death of a Garden Grove man who was fatally shot Sept. 30.
Steven Charles Waino, 36, was shot in the back during an argument that police believe may have stemmed from a prior drug deal. He died about an hour after police found him lying on the ground near Franklin Street and Kingman Avenue, Buena Park Sgt. Terry Branum said.
Police arrested Todd Lee Barnes, 20, of Anaheim and Danel Leon Baff, 35.
Barnes, a decorator, was taken into custody at 2 a.m. Wednesday in Anaheim, and is being held at Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder. Bail has been set at $250,000.
Baff was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a motel in Anaheim. Baff was found with a .22-caliber handgun in his possession, which police believe may have been used in the slaying, Branum said.
