Although the only official announcement from the Blue Jays on Thursday was to designate Jack Morris as their starter in Saturday’s opener, Manager Cito Gaston said Wednesday he “may lean toward” a four-man rotation for the Series. Gaston and pitching coach Galen Cisco discussed restoring left-hander Jimmy Key to the rotation to join Morris, David Cone and Juan Guzman.
Key made a three-inning appearance in relief in Game 5 and gave up two hits, but the Blue Jays would like a left-hander in their rotation to counter Justice, a left-handed hitter, and Pendleton a switch-hitter.
