Funding Cuts Force LACMA to Trim Hours

Share

Because of reduced county funding, the L.A. County Museum of Art will close some of its galleries on an alternating schedule beginning Tuesday.

Major exhibitions, including “Parallel Visions: Modern Artists and Outsider Art,” which opens Sunday, and the upcoming shows, “Art of the Persian Courts: Selections From the Art and History Trust” (Nov. 5-Jan. 24) and “When Art Became Fashion: Kosode in Edo-Period Japan” (Nov. 15-Feb. 7), will not be affected.

Also remaining open at all times will be the galleries of pre-Columbian art and Chinese and Korean art. In addition, all museum galleries will be open on Saturdays and Sundays, and all galleries except the Pavilion for Japanese Art will be open on Friday evenings.
