LOS ANGELES : 4 Honored for Promoting the Culture of Spain

King Juan Carlos of Spain has awarded decorations of merit to four Los Angeles dignitaries for their achievements in promoting Spanish culture.

The awards were granted to Franklin D. Murphy, former chancellor of UCLA and chairman of board of trustees of the National Gallery in Washington, for his work in preserving international cultures; Peter Rawley, with the International Creative Management agency, for his work with Spanish and Latin American films; Ginger Barnard, deputy chief of protocol for Los Angeles County, for her contributions in maintaining relationships between Los Angeles and Spain; and Alberto del Hoyo, general manager of the Regent Beverly-Wilshire Hotel, for providing outstanding service during the recent visit to Los Angeles of her Royal Highness, Infanta Cristina of Spain.
