PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Eagles’ Waters Will Have Surgery
Strong safety Andre Waters, the Philadelphia Eagles’ leading tackler, was placed on injured reserve as he awaited surgery on a broken left leg.
Waters, who has led the Eagles in tackles in four of his previous eight seasons, suffered the injury during Sunday’s 16-12 loss to the Washington Redskins.
Trainer Otho Davis said doctors planned to insert two screws into Waters’ leg to accelerate healing.
“There is a good chance he’ll be back before the end of the season,” Davis said.

Coach Bobby Ross said that O’Neal probably won’t be available when the Chargers play host to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
