VENTURA : City to Auction Off Bikes, TVs, Jewelry
The city of Ventura will hold a public auction of recovered, unclaimed and seized property Nov. 7 at the city maintenance yard.
Among the items available to bidders are bicycles, jewelry, televisions, videocassette recorders and cameras, as well as surplus city equipment.
The public may inspect the merchandise from 8 to 10 a.m., just before the start of the auction. Items may be purchased by cash or check and are sold as-is, without warranties.
The city maintenance yard is located at 336 Sanjon Road.
Proceeds from the auction go to the city of Ventura’s general fund.
In the event that an item is recognized by the owner, a police officer will be on hand to assist in reclaiming the merchandise, said Tom Needles, a spokesman for J&J; Auction Co., which has handled such auctions for the city for eight years.
