A customer sitting in his car in the drive-through lane of a McDonald’s was robbed by a man who threatened him with a hypodermic syringe that the thief said was filled with the AIDS virus, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday at the McDonald’s at 606 N. Tustin St.

The suspect, holding the syringe, reached into the man’s car, grabbed his arm and said, “This has AIDS in it. Give me your money or I’ll stick you.”

The customer, a 25-year-old resident of Orange, then handed over $30 in cash, police said.

The suspect is described as white, in his late 20s, about six feet tall and 190 pounds. He had straight, long brown hair and was unshaven. He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue Levis and white tennis shoes.
