The scattered light showers that hit parts of Orange County on Thursday were expected to return during the morning hours today.
A storm system from the Gulf of Alaska is moving southeast through the state but should be gone by the weekend.
“Things will warm up by Saturday and it should be quite nice except maybe for some winds,” said Dan Bowman, a meteorologist for WeatherData, which provides forecasts for The Times.
The warmest parts of the county on Thursday were Anaheim, El Toro, Santa Ana and San Juan Capistrano, all which reached 71 degrees.
Today’s highs are expected to be several degrees lower, topping out in the upper 60s, Bowman said.
