A storm from the Gulf of Alaska will bring a little rain to San Diego today, but the clouds will clear out in time for Halloween trick-or-treaters.

Showers early Thursday left only traces of rain around the county, said Wilbur Shigehara, senior meteorologist for the National Weather Service. Poway was representative of most areas with 0.03 of an inch.

A 30% chance of showers this afternoon and tonight is expected to bring less than a quarter of an inch of rain to the county, Shigehara said. By Saturday morning, all that will be left of the storm will be cloudy skies, he said.

A high-pressure system will begin building Saturday, bringing warmer days and chilly nights through the middle of next week--typical fall weather, Shigehara said.

“Saturday will be good pumpkin-hunting and pumpkin-carving weather,” he said. “On Halloween night, the stars will be out and clouds will be few.”

Beach highs today and Saturday will range from 65 to 70. Temperatures will nudge up Sunday to between 68 and 72.

Coastal highs will be between 69 and 73 through Saturday, in the low 70s Sunday. Lows will range from 58 to 63 tonight and 56 to 62 Halloween night.

Inland highs will be in the low 70s today and Saturday, with a high near 80 on Sunday. Nights will be chilly, ranging from 53 to 60 today and from 48 to 58 Saturday.
