Minnesota Golfer Leads San Clemente Event
SAN CLEMENTE —
Karen Weiss of Roseville, Minn., shot a two-over-par 74 to take the first-round lead in the $10,000 Pacific Players West Women’s Classic Tuesday at the Pacific Golf Club.
Weiss was one-under 35 on the back nine despite the Santa Ana winds. Jean Zedlitz of Pleasanton, Dana Arnold of Modesto and Wendy Werley of Littleton, Colo., trail Weiss by one stroke.
The 54-hole tournament concludes Thursday.
