SAN DIEGO : Not-Guilty Plea in Cocaine Case
A man arrested Tuesday night with what authorities said was one of the largest stashes of cocaine ever seized locally pleaded not guilty Thursday to one count of possessing cocaine for sale.
Ceasar Lopez, 38, was held in lieu of $2 million bail after investigators, acting on a tip from an informant, discovered about 210 pounds of cocaine in his Ford Bronco, parked at a Bay Park house.
A conviction on the charge of possessing the drug for sale carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Fifteen years could be added to his sentence because quantity of drugs found exceeded 100 pounds, prosecutors said.
