Waterline Broken in Police Chase

Share

An Oxnard police car driven by an officer chasing a fleeing felon skidded into an apartment complex, breaking a water main and forcing the temporary evacuation of eight tenants, police said Saturday.

The officer driving the car, Dave Klug, was trying to assist other Oxnard police in a foot pursuit of the unidentified man wanted for parole violations and on other charges. Klug’s car failed to stop after he applied the brakes, Oxnard Police Lt. Joe Munoz said.

The car then skidded into the wall at 3036 Concord Way, breaking a water main and causing some structural damage. There were no injuries, Munoz said.
