Two men were in custody Saturday for allegedly robbing users of an automated teller machine at gunpoint.

A pair of plainclothes officers who had staked out ATMs in the neighborhood caught the two men in the act outside the Wells Fargo Bank at 1440 S. Harbor Blvd. Officers Laura Rivera and Maureen Flynn were driving by the bank about 10:30 p.m. when they saw a man wearing a trench coat and toting a shotgun near the ATM.

Police said Kenneth Miller, 22, of Lancaster, who was carrying the shotgun, and Curtis Johnson, 19, of Tehachapi, who had a chrome handgun, face charges of armed robbery. They were each being held in the Fullerton city jail on $50,000 bail.

The ATM customers were not injured and the cash the suspects had forced them to withdraw from their accounts was recovered.
