PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Hawkins Sidelined by Knee Injury
Starting defensive end Bill Hawkins suffered a torn ligament in his left knee Sunday and is sidelined for the season.
Coach Chuck Knox said that Hawkins will go to Miami, Hawkins’ hometown, for another examination this week and probably undergo surgery soon after.
Hawkins, who suffered a seriously injured right knee during his rookie season in 1989 and took about two full years to fully recover, started all nine games this season, getting two sacks.
