A Los Angeles police officer charged in an off-duty shooting spree outside a bar pleaded no contest Friday to firing a gun in a dangerous and reckless manner.

Keith Murakami, 27, a former patrol officer with the Police Department’s 77th Street Division, accepted a plea agreement offered by the district attorney’s office. He was charged with shooting at an inhabited dwelling, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, possession of cocaine, being drunk in public and driving under the influence. No one was injured during the shooting.

Murakami faces three years in prison and must undergo a drug rehabilitation program.

Murakami was relieved of duty and further disciplinary action was pending.
