MISSION VIEJO : Scholarship Honors Girl Who Was Killed

Share

A memorial scholarship fund has been set up in honor of Trabuco Hills High School student Alethea Kwok, who was killed in a traffic accident two months ago. Kwok, 15, died of head injuries in September when she ran into the back of a truck while riding a bike to her job at her family’s store.

Trabuco Hills High School teacher Joan Neumann said the scholarship, which will be established for one year only at the request of the girl’s family, will benefit seniors going to a four-year university or college. Parent volunteer Cherry Kwon and junior class adviser Sharon Farris are also helping oversee the scholarship drive.

“We wanted to make sure we did something for her on campus,” Neumann said.

Donations can be mailed to Trabuco Hills High School, 27501 Cordova Road, Mission Viejo, Calif. 92691, Attention: Alethea Kwok Memorial Fund. The scholarship drive will continue through January, 1993.
