Man Killed in Possible Robbery
A man was killed and his friend seriously injured in a parking lot early Saturday in what police believe was the result of a robbery.
Robert Paul Armijo, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene while Abel Chavez Ramirez, 28, of Santa Ana was taken to a local hospital with “massive head injuries,” apparently from a severe beating, police said.
Information about the incident is incomplete, said Santa Ana Police Officer Bill Barrett. Police could find no visible signs of injuries on the dead man.
Officers responding to a disturbance report at a parking lot at 317 N. Jackson St. at 2:30 a.m. found the two victims slumped on the ground, Barrett said.
“We’re working robbery as a possible motive because we have nothing else,” Barrett said.
