PRO BASKETBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NBA : Heat Finally Signs Long
Associated Press
Forward Grant Long signed with the Miami Heat for a reported $13.8 million over seven years.
In May, the Heat offered $8 million over five years. The 6-foot-9 forward put the offer on hold while he explored restricted free agency, but didn’t get any lucrative offers.
Long averaged 14.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals while appearing in all 82 regular-season games last year. He was drafted by Miami during the second round of the NBA draft out of Eastern Michigan.
