In response to “Is There a Clinton Mandate?” editorial, Nov. 8:
The attack on Dole for saying no mandate for Clinton is a little too much. Clinton got 43% of the vote, and you consider that a mandate? The Republicans gain in the House of Representatives, and you claim a Clinton mandate. The Senate race leaves one seat yet to be decided. If it goes Republican, there is no Democratic gain. A Clinton mandate just doesn’t wash.
