Michigan Starts Off No. 1 in Basketball

The Michigan Wolverines, who lost to Duke in the NCAA title game with five freshman starters last season, will begin this season as the No. 1 team in the Associated Press college basketball poll.
Kansas, Duke, Indiana and Kentucky round out the top five. UCLA is ranked No. 24.
Michigan received 23 of the 65 first-place votes and 1,536 points from the voting sportswriters and broadcasters.
