West Covina City Council Awards 3 Contracts
The City Council on Tuesday awarded contracts for maintenance of the city’s two-way radio system, installation of left- turn signals and replacement of police cars.
The council accepted a low bid from Motorola Communications and Electronics to maintain its radio equipment, dropping Radio Lab, which had held the contract since 1976.
Motorola will charge $3,045 per month; Radio Lab asked $3,590 per month.
The contract for left-turn signals at the Amar Road/Nogales Street intersection and into shopping centers on Amar near Azusa Avenue went to C.T. & F’s low bid of $39,084.
To replace unmarked police cars, the city agreed to buy two vehicles with a total cost of $23,948.80 from Ed Butts Ford and one vehicle for not more than $11,496 from Enterprise Car Sales.
