Public to Discuss Boulevard Revival

Share

The revitalization of Thousand Oaks Boulevard, a hodgepodge of mostly small shops that make up Thousand Oaks’ main business corridor, will be the subject of a public meeting today at Conejo Elementary School, 280 Conejo School Road.

The meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. is a prelude to a market study of the boulevard by the Magellan Group, a consulting firm hired by the city, said Edward Johnduff, the city’s administrative service manager.

The study will look at ideas for reviving the boulevard, one of the first streets in Thousand Oaks. The city has already spent $10 million on improvements for the boulevard, which is showing its age in some places, and plans to spend another $8 million to $10 million in the next five years.

The market study will assess the retail, office and residential housing markets along the boulevard. City officials said it will be used as a basis for a master plan to revive the boulevard.
