Padre pitcher Dave Eiland has been sent down to Las Vegas, the club has announced.
Eiland, a 26-year-old right-hander, started the season in San Diego after he went to spring training as a non-roster player. He went 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA in five starts before he was put on the disabled list with back spasms. He pitched two more games before an ankle problem forced him on the DL again, on July 7.
Eiland finished the season with the Stars, where he was 4-5 with a 5.23 ERA in 14 starts.
