Perched for ‘Tosca’

In July, I bought two $60 tickets to the Music Center Opera production of “Tosca” as a Christmas present for my husband. I purchased these tickets from a brochure mailed to my home. When I called in August because the tickets had not come, I was told that all group orders were filled first.

When we got to our seats, they were in Row ZZ, which is in the extreme rear of the theater on a level below the seats in front. We could not see the stage! We spent the entire performance perched on the folded-up end of the seats!

These seats are obviously added to sell more tickets. When we asked if cushions were available, we were offered phone books.

I feel cheated! After holding my money for five months, we got the worst seats in the theater. From now on, we will stay home and watch opera on Channel 28, where the viewing is perfect and no one takes our money under false pretenses.
