The New York Yankees have informed major league baseball and the National League that they are revoking the assignment of three players to the expansion teams because the Florida Marlins have not compensated them for territory belonging to the club’s minor league team in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The New York Times reported that Joseph Molloy, Yankees managing partner, reiterated the club’s position in a letter last Thursday to Bud Selig, chairman of the major league executive council, and Bill White, National League president.
