NHL ROUNDUP : Nordiques Win in Overtime, 5-4

Owen Nolan finished off a hat trick by scoring the tying goal 13:06 into the third period and adding the game-winner 23 seconds into overtime Thursday night at Toronto to give the Quebec Nordiques a 5-4 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Quebec moved to within four points of Adams Division-leading Montreal.

Nolan spoiled the Maple Leaf debut of John Cullen, who was acquired from Hartford and wore the No. 19 his father wore for Toronto in the 1950s.

Cullen arrived in Toronto earlier in the day and went right to work, scoring twice and assisting on another goal to give the Maple Leafs the lead for the first time, 4-3, before Nolan took over.

St. Louis 7, Vancouver 5--Kevin Miller scored twice and Craig Janney added a goal and three assists as the Blues scored five goals in the third period to defeat the Canucks at St. Louis.

The Canucks scored three times in the third period, tying the score, 4-4, on a goal by Greg Adams at 8:20.

Ron Sutter scored on a rebound from the slot to put St. Louis ahead for good and Janney made it 6-4 with 4:44 left.
