Times Report on Lawyer Who Is Heir

Davan Maharaj’s investigative report, “Leisure World Lawyer Heir to Clients’ Millions,” (Nov. 22) was brilliant.

I, for one, am not about to jump on any bandwagon condemning all lawyers because that, plain and simple, is not true or just. Regardless of trade or profession, whatever happened to the concept of the right, the honest thing to do without trickery? Is ethics a dirty word?

Mr. Maharaj did an outstanding service by exposing a potential threat to those of us in our “golden years.” Now, apply those excellent investigative talents to lead us to solid ground. What are the ways, the methods, the agencies, the organizations, the procedures we can rely on for guidance and counsel?
