Bold Robbers Steal Truck at Gunpoint
Two men jumped from a car and stole a pickup truck from a pair of cousins at gunpoint Saturday afternoon, police said.
No one was injured in the 3:37 p.m. carjacking at Harbor Boulevard and Warner Avenue, said Sgt. Dick Faust.
Cousins Guadalupe Barjas and Fernando Barjas, both 19, of Santa Ana were in a 1985 Nissan pickup truck which was stopped at the Harbor-Warner intersection, police said. Two men hopped from a car behind them and one pointed a gun at Guadalupe Barjas, the driver.
The two victims offered no resistance and left the truck, police said. “They cooperated 100%,” said Faust, who added that police recommend not resisting during such an armed robbery.
No one was in custody in connection with the carjacking.
