Annalsof the L.A. Cocktail (cont.): James Mackie writes that the City of Angels’ official drink isn’t as obscure as we may have thought. A few years ago at the White Horse Inn in Northridge, Mackie says, “an older gentleman and his lady sat the bar, waiting to be seated for dinner. He placed a $10 bill on the bar, saying, ‘This is yours, if you can make us a Jack Rose Cocktail and a Los Angeles Cocktail.”

Mackie was the bartender. He went home with that $10 bill.
