Luis Humberto Cisneros walked into the Westminster police station Sunday afternoon to report that he had been mugged and robbed the night before.

As Cisneros, 31, told his story at the front desk, in walked someone he recognized to talk to a detective on an unrelated matter. It was one of the three men who robbed him, Cisneros told the police officer.

Sizing up the situation, the familiar looking man fled from the building with Westminster Police Watch Commander Sgt. Jack Davidson and desk officer Jirro Valderrama in hot pursuit, Sgt. Dwight Moore said.

The two police officers arrested Roger Vite Ramirez, 24, of Garden Grove about a half mile from the station house in a nearby apartment complex where they had chased him on foot. Ramirez was booked at County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery and resisting arrest.

Cisneros identified the suspect as one of the three men who broke his nose, took his wallet and jewelry and beat and kicked him about 7 p.m. Saturday night outside a liquor store at 8482 Westminster Blvd.

“This is one of those Ripley’s Believe It or Not. What are the chances?” Moore said.

Police recovered some of the stolen goods from Ramirez’s apartment, Moore said. But there are still two suspects at large, he said.
