Baker Expected to Be New Giant Manager
The San Francisco Giants are expected to make Dusty Baker their new manager at a news conference today.
Baker, a former Dodger all-star outfielder who has spent five seasons on the Giants’ coaching staff, will replace Roger Craig, who was fired Dec. 1.
Baker, 43, who also played for the Atlanta Braves and the Giants, would be the sixth minority manager in the major leagues. He joined Craig’s staff in 1988 as first base coach and served as batting coach the last four seasons.
