SAN CLEMENTE : Trash Hauler Will Take, Recycle Trees
The city trash hauler, Solag Disposal, will offer a curbside Christmas tree collection and recycling program in the coming weeks.
In an effort to extend the life of local landfills, the trees collected during the drive will be turned into chips to be used for landscaping and soil enrichment, officials said.
The company will only take trees free of stands, nails, ornaments, lights and flocking, officials said.
Trees will be collected on regularly scheduled trash collection days between Dec. 26 and Jan. 7, officials said.
Trash collection days will be rescheduled twice during the holiday season: Trash that would normally be collected on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 will be collected Dec. 26 and Jan 2.
For more information about the tree recycling program, call Solag Disposal at (714) 240-0446.
