South Pasadena : Hillside Building Restricted
New restrictions on the development of single-family homes in hillside areas has received final approval.
The ordinance, adopted by a 5-0 City Council vote last week, was prompted by complaints of “monster” homes being built along the city’s hillsides.
The measure, which affects development on parcels with a minimum 20% slope, places tighter restrictions on the height of the new homes as well as the amount of grading allowed to build the structures.
