Three days before the 10th anniversary of what many consider the greatest upset in college basketball history, Chaminade has stung another comparative giant.

This time the victim was Stanford, which fell to the host Silverswords in double overtime, 71-63, Wednesday in the seventh-place game of the Maui Invitational at Lahaina.

Chaminade (2-3), a Division II school in Honolulu, has won only three of 23 games in nine years of hosting the tournament. Its biggest victory came one year before the tournament began, on Christmas Eve in 1982, when the Silverswords beat then-No. 1 Virginia, which was led by Ralph Sampson, 77-72.
