This Is My Life (HBO Sunday at 9 a.m., and at 8 p.m., Friday at 1:30 p.m.) In Nora Ephron’s very smart and likable 1992 comedy, based on Meg Wolitzer’s novel, we see the world of talk-show TV, Las Vegas clubs, the glamorous, glitzy sites from the perspective of two young girls whose mother (Julie Kavner) zooms to success in stand-up comedy.

Working Girls (Cinemax Friday at 8 p.m.) Lizzie Borden’s brisk, witty 1986 documentary-like take on life in a Manhattan bordello deftly raises the question of viable alternatives to prostitution for many women.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (Cinemax Saturday at 12:30 a.m.) John McNaughton’s assured 1989 film is as fine as it is brutally disturbing, a character study of an Uptown Chicago murderer, based very loosely on the life and rambling confessions of Henry Lee Lucas. Michael Rooker and Tracy Arnold star.
