Titan Linemen Cotti, Bonnett Plan to Transfer to San Jose State

John Cotti and Wally Bonnett, who each started on Cal State Fullerton’s offensive line this past season, plan to transfer to San Jose State and play for the Spartans, former Titan Coach Gene Murphy said Sunday.

Seven other Fullerton players have finalized plans to continue playing at other schools in the wake of Fullerton’s Dec. 7 decision to suspend the football program, and all will be eligible immediately with their new teams.

Murphy said Titan punter Noel Prefontaine received the most inquiries and will go to Arizona State. The other transfers are offensive lineman Bryan Campbell (Kansas State), wide receiver/kick returner Polee Banks (New Mexico State), defensive end Bill Jones (Western Illinois), defensive lineman Tom Cale (Texas El Paso), linebacker Jason Stanley (Utah) and defensive back Mike Simmons (Central Oklahoma State).
