Postal Store to Open: The U.S. post office’s so-called “store of the future,” where stamp aficionados can purchase everything from $5 stamp books to Elvis clocks, will open this spring in Rancho Santa Margarita, postal officials said. The new post office will be the second of its kind in the western United States--the is in San Diego County near La Jolla. “The concept of the stores of the future is to give customers a chance to see our products on display,” said Christine Dugas, postal spokeswoman. Instead of being stuffed behind a postal counter, stamps and other postal goods will be on display on walls and under glass cases. The 4,000-square-foot building will be leased by the U.S. Postal Service in the Plaza Empresa, a retail/commercial complex situated on the corner of Empresa and Santa Margarita Parkway.
